Welcome

Welcome to the website for St. Joseph Church in Ville Platte.

We were established as a parish of the Diocese of Lafayette in 1947 by Bishop Jules Jeanmard.

Our parish’s first pastor was Fr. Adelard Auclair, SSJ and were staffed by the Josephite Fathers until 1954.

In 1954 Fr. Jean Toussaint was assigned as our first diocesan pastor and diocesan priests have provided pastoral care since that time.
